House Marinara Sauce With Meatballs

Ingredients

Sauce
2 (14.5 ounce) cans Diced Tomatoes
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
4 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
2 cloves Garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon Brown Sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
6 tablespoons olive oil
1/3 cup finely diced onion
1/2 cup white wine
1/4 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes (optional)

Meatballs
1 pound lean ground beef
1 cup fresh bread crumbs
1 tablespoon dried parsley
1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1 egg, beaten

Directions
1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, parsley, Parmesan, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, garlic powder and beaten egg. Mix well and form into 12 balls.

2. In a large skillet over medium heat saute the finely chopped onion in olive oil for 2 minutes.

3. Add diced tomatoes, tomato paste, chopped parsley, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper and white wine.

4. Brownn meatballs on all sides in a pan with about 1/2 inch of hot vegetable oil, drain them and then throw them right into the sauce.

5. Simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
